My experience with teaching started at a very young age when I began to tutor students in the elementary school. I earned my degree in software engineering in 1986, and eventually began teaching computers in the evenings at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Later I studied Kenpo and Tai Chi which led to teaching Tai Chi as various places.
After having children (born 1992 & 1994), I began practicing Yoga more seriously and found a calm and peace that had previously been foreign to me. I began to read countless books about various styles and ideas on Yoga, especially Hatha Yoga. This led to seeking out and studying with many teachers.
Over the next few years I had the opportunity to study with Shiva Rae, Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden, Aadil Palkhivala, and many others. Two of my favorite teachers to work with were Donna Fahri and Erich Schiffmann. Their books are marvelous as well.
My Yoga teaching career began in 2001. In 2004 Todd Norian, certified Anusara Hatha Yoga teacher, came to town, and I loved it! From 2004 to 2006 I studied Anusara with numerous Anusara Certified teachers, including John Friend, the founder of Anusara.
Currently, I am most influenced by Rod Stryker and, especially, Doug Keller, both of whom I've recently worked with. Between their teachings, along with others as well, I find a nice balance between therapeutics, flow, breath, and deep meditation. I am humbled and grateful to have had such an honor as to work with these great Yogis.
My teachings incorporate detailed alignment, pranayama (breath work), and meditation. Private classes can address therapeutics and specific conditions.
